Responsibilities

PURPOSE:       

The Process Technician is a mid-level technical position that is responsible for setting and maintaining machine processes within acceptable quality parameters for the production of quality blow molded and/or injection molded parts in conformance with product standards

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Follow all Amcor safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Follow OSHA rules and regulations
  • Monitor quality of product; inspects bottles for defects, inspects boxes for damage and properly follows customer pack patterns
  • Communicates and cooperates with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the Goals of the Department and the Plant
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines; wear protective clothing, long-sleeved shirt, jeans or slacks, hair net, latex gloves and practices good hygiene
  • Willing and able to work overtime when needed
  • Identify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
  • Effectively respond in an Emergency Situation such as Fire, and Accident and direct the activities of others
  • Follow all Department Procedures and Directives

  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Ability to operate all Stretch Blow Molding (SBM), Injection Molding (IM) and Reheat and Blow (RHB) machine platforms
  • Basic understanding of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) regarding Intrinsic Viscosity (IV), dew point, drying systems etc.
  • Basic understanding of physics, e.g. time, pressure, velocity, machine synchronization and correct timing in regard to the process
  • Read and understand product part drawings, prints and quality control plans. Knowledge of the different attributes and ability to measure them to determine if the part meets specification.
  • Assist in mold changes, setups and inputting the process
  • Assists in tooling and machine maintenance
  • Basic technical understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems and troubleshooting
  • Can verify proper operation of our systems - PET drying systems, chilled water, tower water, high and low compressed air
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • Provide technical training
  • Assist outside vendors in qualifying new tooling
  • Maintain set-up sheets
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 1 year experience in a technical position
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
  • Capable of lifting (up to 35 pounds).
  • Must be able to follow all department procedures and directives.
  • Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.
  • Must have written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Extensive experience with SBM, RHB and IMM machines, including Nissei, Aoki, Sidel and Husky machine platforms.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel and Power Point.
