Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOBS AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                      

  • Responsible for achieving plant Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals.
  • Complete a minimum of 2 Observation and 2 Near Miss audits per month.
  • Accountable for personal adherence to all applicable Safety, GMP, Food Safety, and Plant Policies.
  • Provide on-the-floor leadership with day-to-day issue resolution.
  • Assist in providing an emphasis on a proactive approach to ensure our internal customer’s needs are met.
  • Develop set-up procedures for equipment failure replacements and follow-up for inventory replacements..
  • Monitor the overall status for critical replacement spares in our shop area.
  • Maintain control of 5S in department/area of responsibility.
  • Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provide clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
  • Support and investigate situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Complete responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Actively lead risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
  • Complete incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Set goals for their organizational unit; achieve goals and ensure that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.
  • Support the accomplishment of your work groups through the quality, timeliness and professionalism of your attitude.
  • Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.
  • Apply resources in a manner which maximizes their effectiveness while assuring quality.
  • Maintain a work environment which will contribute to the assurance of safety and GMP compliance.
  • Adhere to established procedures, perform self-checking and pay attention to detail in the performance of your and your team’s work.
  • Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.
  • Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of your work.
  • Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.

Qualifications

Qualifications                                                                                                                                                  

  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Basic working knowledge of Excel and Word Software
  • Must read, write, and speak English
  • Basic Hydralics & Pneumatic Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of electrical schematics

Education and Experience                                                                                                                         

  • GED or High School Education
  • 5 years’ experience in a technical role - plastics industry a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Food Safety/GMP Manufacturing Environment.  Regularly required to walk, lift and carry materials <35 pounds through plant in order to function in the job
