Responsibilities

Responsible for Setting up, running and assisting with all Extrusion manufacturing equipment.  Leads overall department to produce quality plastic film bag products in a safe work environment.  Team Lead will also serve in a backup Supervisor role as assigned.

  • Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to management.  Acts as a role model for Safety on shift.  Participates in safety programs by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; enters Near Miss data and observations into Global Data Center Database (GDC).
  • Has an understanding of basic work responsibilities for Process Tech, Forklift, Material Handler, Put-Away and Senior Packer positions.
  • Possesses an understanding of extrusion operations including, but not limited to threading, start-up, screen changes, winders, PECO, glue machines, IBC, tapers, blenders, hoppers, Alpine, extruders, dies, bag machines, folders, and other equipment as assigned.
  • Makes timely changeovers on equipment. Adjust equipment to maintain good yields and maximize production.  Makes minor repairs on equipment and assists maintenance technician with equipment trouble shooting.
  • Monitors online schedule on a daily basis to notify leadership and perform Change-Over Procedures as required.
  • Prints, reads and distributes Traveler Reports as required.
  • Monitors and reports packaging issues to Supervisor and Production Manager.
  • Monitors Production Yield report to meet or exceed Production Yield requirements.
  • Verifies that current ISO documents and procedures are utilized daily on the Production floor.
  • Performs required quality checks and adheres to quality specs appearing on the Traveler.
  • Creates and submits maintenance Work Orders as required.
  • Distributes daily reports via email. Including, but not limited to WebEFF, yield Report, Attendance Rosters, and Temporary Labor Attendance, Repack Production, Production and Repro reports.
  • Assists Packers, Sr. Packers and Process Techs during breaks and as needed.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned or requested.

Education:  Knowledge of a specialized field gained through specialized training equivalent to one year of college or trade school or equivalent experience of 1-2 years preferred. 

Experience:  In addition to the educational requirements, 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
