Responsibilities

  1. Execute capital projects including:
  1. Develop detailed mechanical designs and specifications for new equipment.
  2. Plan, budget, schedule, and execute projects in a timely manner.
  3. Justify project by benefits to achieve approval of funds
  4. Collaborate with vendors, contractors, operations, and other engineers to ensure timely delivery and installation of equipment.
  5. Manage resources to complete project installation and startup
  6. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and progress reports.
  7. Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  8. Provide training as needed to maintenance & operations
  1. Identify and lead Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) to:
  1. Improve safety
  2. Reduce cost by improving productivity and reducing waste
  3. Improve product quality and resolve reoccurring quality complaints
  4. Improve equipment reliability
  1. Assume a leadership role providing technical expertise to handle the most challenging problems
  2. Assist production and maintenance in solving difficult technical problems
  3. Support Quality in the root cause analysis of complaints
  4. Support manufacturing improvements through project management and engineering expertise
  5. Generate ideas and solutions to specific problems and plant improvement opportunities
  6. Investigate new processes, equipment, and methods to provide competitive advantages
  7. Continually develop and improve process knowledge and continuous improvement skills

 

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical required)
  2. 5-7 years experience in Mechanical Engineering field preferred.
  3. 3-5 years experience of managing major CAPEX projects.
  4. Proficient AutoCAD skills are required.
  5. Project management skills are strongly considered.
  6. Proven ability to lead $MM projects.
  7. Strong leadership, people, and communications skills.
  8. Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  9. Strong Computer literacy is preferred.
  10. Experience and understanding of process systems, metrics, Continuous Improvement Projects and SPC
