3.1 To perform the job functions to maintain efficiency of assigned machines in order to meet departmental and company goals.
3.2 . To perform first articles on color and resin changes.
3.3 To coordinate with Quality Control department on production activities, such as held ware, isolation procedures, etc.
3.4 To utilize the MATTEC production reporting system to control and improve the process. For example: production reporting downtime reports, SPC, SQC, etc.
3.5 To make adjustments and maintain the bottle operation of the conveying, flaming, robotic and inspection systems on any IBM machine.
3.6 Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.
3.7 Continuously improves the efficiency of the IBM production department by improving existing processes.
3.8 Works with the supervisor in directing activities of utilities and packers assigned to the group leader.
3.9 Responsible for the complete ownership of assigned machines and lines.
3.10 Contributes to the team effort.
3.11 Supports and adheres to all safety policies.
3.12 Follows and supports all GMP’s.
3.13 Other duties as assigned
4.1.1 Must be able to remember department and company policies and procedures, and recall multiple operations.
4.1.2 Must be able to analyze and prioritize projects, and have the ability to respond to instructions, and follow through in an independent manner.
4.1.3 Must have the interpersonal skills with the ability to deal positively with others in a team environment
4.1.4 Ability to gather information quickly, communicates to others, and reacts in a timely manner.
4.1.5 Able to respond in emergency situations with a cool head, and be able to direct to the appropriate person.
4.1.6 Must be able to maintain focus on multiple duties, prioritize, and adjust schedule as necessary.
4.1.7 Must maintain ownership of responsibilities in the department and support the quality system process.
4.1.8 Must have a general mechanical ability.
4.1.9 Must be able to speak, write, and read effectively.
4.1.10 Basic comprehension skills at a normal business level.
4.1.11 Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
4.1.12 Must have a basic understanding on how to use a computer.
4.1.13 Must have required tools to perform job functions.
4.2 Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
4.2.1 One (1) year of experience in plastic blow molding or equivalent on the job training.
4.2.2 High School diploma or equivalent.
4.3 Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
4.3.1 Must be able to work twelve (12) hours per day with three 15-minute breaks and one (1) 30-minute lunch. Must be able to work overtime on very short notice.
4.3.2 Must be able to work safely in the vicinity of open flames, hot plastic, oil and metal (at approximately 350-380 degrees). There is possible exposure to dust and odors from various substances such as oil, molten plastics, degreasers and cleaning solvents.
4.3.3 Noise level is usually 90dB and above and requires ear protection.
4.3.4 Must be able to work around sharp edges of machinery and moving machine components.
4.3.5 Must wear the following personal protective equipment: rubber soled/ steel toed shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves and forearm sleeves.
4.3.6 Will be required to lift on an occasional basis anywhere from 10-50 lbs. Must be able to carry approximately 50 lbs. for a distance of 100 ft twice a day on the average. Must be able to push/pull a 1000 lb. mold into position on a machine table.
4.3.7 Must be able to stand on average 10 hours a day.
4.3.8 Must be able to detect visual defects in a bottle. Must be able to clearly distinguish shades in color.
4.3.9 Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms.
4.3.10 Bending and twisting at a 90 ° angle will be required about 50% of the day.
4.3.11 Must be able to read and understand all work procedures and instructions.
