Responsibilities

PURPOSE: Supervise Tool Room personnel and activities to ensure molds and tools are constructed, repaired, and maintained efficiently in order to meet production needs.

  1. Supervise employees and activities in Tool Room.
  2. Develop preventative maintenance programs.
  3. Set priorities for mold repairs.
  4. Oversee conversions, repairs, preventive maintenance and inspection of tooling.
  5. Manage expenses for Tool Shop and make recommendations for capital needs.
  6. Review of new mold constructions
  7. Evaluate down-time and efficiency reports.
  8. Drive process improvements.
  9. Keep Tool Shop personnel informed of pertinent activities and information.
  10. Work with vendors on projects.
  11. Review new mold construction and design changes to existing tooling.
  12. Enforce all company policies, Safety Rules, ISO, Housekeeping, GMP’s, etc.
  13. Conduct new hire training and continuous training to improve efficiencies.
  14. Accepts responsibility to comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF and any other regulatory requirements. And has the authority to report concerns that could impact these requirements or suggest areas for improvement.
  15. Serve as back-up for Tool Room Manager, as needed, to oversee daily operation in the department.

Qualifications

  1. College Degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
  2. Must have extensive knowledge of mold repair/trouble shooting and understanding of machine shop process.
  3. Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.
  4. Must have excellent industry knowledge.
  5. Strong organizational and communication skills with proven ability to multi-task.
  6. Must have excellent problem solving ability and good judgment.
  7. Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
  8. Previous experience in Plastic Injection Molding.
  9. 3-5 years experience in similar role.
  10. Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting/moving (up to 50 pounds periodically w/ lift assist device).
  11. Able to work safely in a production environment around moving mechanical parts, recognizing various sounds and alarms.

 

Pay: $84,900 per year
