Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic leader to join our team and help build a Center of Excellence that drives operational excellence and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. This critical role requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record of leading both salaried and hourly employees, and a passion for developing people and processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and Inspire: Manage and motivate a team of production staff (operators, team leaders, technicians, etc.) to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.
    • Drive safety performance: By executing leader standard work and actively supporting the organization's zero-injury goal.
    • Processes: Implement and oversee efficient production processes to maximize output and minimize waste.
    • Ensure Quality: Maintain high standards of product quality and safety, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
    • Drive Innovation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.

Additionally:

  • Establish and lead plant safety objectives, ensuring full compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Support and guide the Plant Safety Committee, attending meetings and providing leadership as needed.
  • Plan, organize, and direct manufacturing operations to maximize return on assets and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence, regularly engaging with Production Frontline Leaders and employees to provide clear direction and leadership.
  • Drive adherence to top-tier quality standards, ensuring compliance with ISO requirements.
  • Support regional quality systems, including commercialization processes, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and both preventive and corrective actions.
  • Lead daily operations meetings and facilitate periodic plant-wide communication sessions to align teams and share updates.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to ensure timely procurement, effective planning, optimal inventory levels, and on-time delivery of finished goods.
  • Partner with Human Resources to manage talent effectively and contribute to long-term strategic workforce planning.
  • Champion cost improvement initiatives, ensuring the plant maintains a competitive edge in manufacturing efficiency.
  • Implement strategies to reduce manufacturing costs through optimal use of labor, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance, and operational excellence.
  • Establish clear team and individual accountability for problem-solving and cost-reduction efforts.
  • Manage departmental spending in alignment with budget targets and production volumes.
  • Promote employee engagement by encouraging constructive input and fostering a culture of involvement and ownership.
  • Ensure effective communication across all levels of the organization to maintain alignment and transparency.
  • Lead the planning and execution of continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Support operational excellence programs, driving performance improvements and best practices.
  • Oversee training and development for the production team to build capability and support career growth.
  • Direct or support capital investment projects, including facility expansions and equipment upgrades.
  • Participate in or lead regional and global initiatives, contributing to broader organizational goals.

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

  • Demonstrated success in production management, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly across all levels.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities, with a proven track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of business practices, safety regulations and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing leadership role, with a consistent record of driving results.
  • Experience managing both hourly and salaried direct reports is required.
