POSITION SUMMARY

The F.I.G. Lead Operator will oversee and direct the operation of the F.I.G machine.  The F.I.G. Lead will be knowledgeable of all aspects of the F.I.G. and ensure quality products are being produced and the equipment is being operated per the approved processes.  To assure that lids are installed with gaskets, caps, plugs or labels per customer specifications and are being manufactured and packaged according to Berry Global quality standards in a safe and efficient manner.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Set up the equipment to match customer order specifications and ensure production schedules are met timely.
2. Promptly correct machinery malfunctions.
3. Oversees the starting and stopping of the equipment, housekeeping, cleaning of equipment and quality control of products produced.
4. Performs necessary adjustments to the process to ensure acceptable product.
5. Will notify the manager of production, scrap and fill out any documentation and production reports.
6. Manual installation of plugs/caps.
7. Validate gasket installation with validating machine.
8. Apply screw caps with torque unit.
9. Install caps/plugs using cap installation machine.
10. Visually inspect lids.
11. Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.
12. Maintain, clean and organize assigned work area.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

1. Mechanical aptitude, ability to work with hand tools.
2. Able to work around chemicals.
3. Must be able to identify alpha/numeric product codes.
4. Must be able to frequently lift, bend and reach to perform necessary job functions.
5. Ability to use common measuring tools.
6. Must be able to calculate using general math.
7. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
