Responsibilities

You’re an innovative thinker, passionate about the planet and eager to play a role in creating sustainable packaging that keeps the world healthy, fed and working. As part of our world-class, performance-focused team you will support Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation processes within the Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions North America Analytical Services department.

 

Key Job Accountabilities

 

As part of the Analytical Services team, you will...

  • Maintain, ensure, and improve an accurate measuring and testing system.
  • Establish and develop gauges and/or measurement techniques for (new) molds during production and/or mold qualification for both metrological and physical properties.
  • Assist and/or coordinate CQV processes on-site, as needed.
  • Participate in product development teams as a subject matter expert to ensure proper gauges are developed and/or implemented and appropriate testing is completed during mold qualifications and/or CQV processes. Provide feedback to the team in regards to the capability and acceptability of a mold based on acceptance criteria inputs from the customer or team.
  • Provide customers with testing services and assist in developing quality assurance testing programs.
  • Read and interpret product drawings to determine specifications and measurement locations.
  • Perform Measurement System Analysis, including Gauge R&R and Correlation Studies.
  • Investigate and recommend new technology of measurement equipment for both metrological and physical properties.
  • Train other laboratory personnel in proper measurement techniques.
  • Travel to and assist manufacturing sites as necessary in areas of gauge setup and measurement technique training.
  • Apply plastic processing knowledge to evaluate testing and measurement techniques and results.
  • Conduct all job duties per the company’s published policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent quality experience required, CQE preferred. Closely related industrial experience may be substituted for degree relevance.
  • Certification as ASQ CQE required or will be obtained.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to, Minitab, Excel, Word, CPro, and Share Point
  • Experience in statistical processes and auditing.
  • Experience in plastic processing required; injection molding, thermoforming and blow molding preferred.
  • ISO 9001/2000 experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with customers or vendors in a professional manner
  • Ability to travel required, up to 25% annually
