Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and monitor equipment performance to ensure optimal operation.
  • Support and mentor MT1s and Trainees, fostering their development and understanding of maintenance procedures.
  • Respond promptly to calls and requests from manufacturing and other departments, maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Operate maintenance room equipment in accordance with established procedures and lead other technicians to ensure tasks are completed correctly and efficiently.
  • Maintain equipment in safe, production-ready condition, taking proactive steps to prevent issues before they arise.
  • Actively participate in daily team production meetings, sharing key updates related to safety, quality, maintenance, production, and continuous improvement.
  • Follow work instructions with a high level of self-motivation and accountability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine immediate corrective actions or escalate to appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and hold team members accountable for the same standard.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Lead the equipment preventative maintenance program, ensuring schedules are followed and documentation is complete.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as part of routine duties.
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset by actively seeking opportunities to enhance team performance and the work environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required and completion of core Maint. Trainee Program Ivy Tech Maintenance courses. Courses are provided by the company.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with broad knowledge in areas such as electromechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, PLC and robotics required.
    • Proficient in the use of both basic and advanced hand tools for various maintenance applications.
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints and schematics.
  • Communication: Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency preferred.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Based on assessment results and prior experience, additional coursework through Ivy Tech or a similar institution may be required.
