Responsibilities

The Thermoforming Maintenance Technician ensures the efficient operation and maintenance of thermoforming equipment. This role involves daily inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and project completion. The technician makes decisions and improvements, focusing on immediate repairs and MEEF (Manufacturing Equipment Efficiency) enhancements in line with the Thermoforming Maintenance Department's goals. The technician ensures equipment runs efficiently and produces quality products while fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot equipment to resolve functionality or performance issues.
  • Assume control of machines in situations with potential for injury or rapid deterioration.
  • Inspect and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Use manuals to locate parts required for repairs and projects.
  • Research and resolve technical issues.
  • Facilitate preventative maintenance and WIP programs to drive equipment reliability. 
  • Lead repairs to ensure maximum uptime and reliability of associated equipment.
  • Will mentor, coach, and assist with training of new or experienced team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor equipment's performance and address as needed.
  • Communicate relevant information and activity status with leadership and team members.
  • Address root causes of mistakes and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure personal safety and safety of fellow employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS directives.
  • Ensure adherence to plant and department safety policies.
  • Maintain GDC and housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Maintain a clean work area in maintenance areas and during maintenance activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Starting Pay $29.00/hr plus $1.00 shift differential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a maintenance role.
  • Proven ability to lead repairs.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of thermoforming equipment, maintenance practices, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven dependability, reliability, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Specific knowledge of manufacturing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work around grease, oils, inks, and solvents without adverse reaction.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders.
  • Must be able to stand, walk bend or stoop through an entire shift.
  • Good manual dexterity of arms and fingers.
  • Must have 20/20 vision with correction to be able to detect minor defects.
  • Must be able to differentiate color.
