Overview
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, health & safety regulations.
- Lead by example, following all critical safety behavior rules while encouraging other employees to work safely.
- Check cup counts per box to make sure there are the correct amounts of parts per box.
- Check the quality of the parts, cycle time, clean accessory equipment, and make sure all thermoform lines are kept clean.
- Help with mold change shut downs and start up. Process sheets / set up sheets.
- Check quality and color of parts twice per shift as time allows.
- Check parts for size (ie. especially on specific customers) and make adjustments as needed.
- Check to make sure line techs have completed all necessary paperwork 2 hours into the shift.
- Complete efficiency reports and oversee the checking of production by box count sheet an the end of each shift.
- Verify the accuracy of travelers for each line and verify line clearances are signed off.
- Oversee the duties of the techs, OA's, and operators on all shifts.
- Fill in trending charts for specific parameters for special run projects. (Refer to Parameter Chart in Appendix).
- Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and Department of Health requirements.
- Do Kronos for their shift, verify accurate time keeping with Group Leader.
- Participate in accident investigations when needed.
- Perform any other duties established by the Group Leader.
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED equivalent .Or previous experience.
- Previous extrusion and/or thermoforming experience
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex.
- Good Attendance.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to lift 35 pounds frequently and/or up to 100 pounds with assistance occasionally.
- Ability to push/pull loads in excess of 75 pounds occasionally.
- Able to stand/walk for 7 hours of an 8-hour shift. Be able to work extended shifts if needed.
- Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warning alarms and horns on forklifts.
- Able to occasionally climb ladders safely and without assistance.
- Able to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts.
- Able to work overhead or in awkward positions on a frequent basis.
- Optical vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10 – 12 point font at a distance of 12 – 18 inches.
- Bending and lifting ability adequate to shovel material.
- Ability to work in dusty / smoky environment on an intermittent basis
