Responsibilities

The QA Supervisor plans, coordinates and directs quality programs designed to ensure continual improvement of product quality. The QA Supervisor also accomplishes the following:

 

• Ensure company and customer quality and food packaging safety requirements are met.
• Participate in the review of manufacturing and testing of new product to ensure quality requirements are fulfilled.
• Design and implement process capability studies, as required to qualify products.
• Provide guidance in the implementation of testing procedures to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Track root causes of quality issues, coordinates corrective actions, and implements appropriate adjustments using established systems.
• Facilitate performance metrics systems and present to management groups.
• Interface with customers, vendors, 3rd party assessors and applicable regulatory agencies.
• Ensure proper usage and calibration of measuring devices (ie: calipers, gages etc..)
• Direct employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure control over materials and products including responsibility for the data collection systems.
• Responsible for sanitation and good manufacturing practice compliance.
• Support and provide guidance for systems including documented procedures, audits and programs.
• Facilitate team work focused on quality and operational improvement as well as customer satisfaction.
• Work directly with the customer to investigate quality complaints.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

• Carryout supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, training of employees, placing, assigning and directing work, appraisal performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

B.A./B.S. from a four year college or university, or two to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
