PURPOSE: |
The HR Manager will develop, implement, and manage company policies and procedures. Manages all functional areas within responsibility to include employee relations, recruitment and staffing, policy implementation and interpretation, affirmative action, employment law compliance, salary administration, training and development, payroll and benefits. Keep plant leadership team abreast of changes in employment law as well as ensure legal compliance. Make recommendations that encompass trends and new developments within the human resources function. Works independently and makes decisions that are in the best interest of the organization. The HR Manager will report directly to the Regional HR Manager with a strong dotted-line reporting relationship to the Plant Manager. |
RESPONSIBILITIES: |
· Provide HR leadership to deliver key HR processes including employee relations, recruitment and staffing, employment law and policy compliance, succession planning, salary administration, payroll, benefits, training and development. |
· Builds and maintains effective working relationships with all levels of the organization to provide advice and counsel on employee related and organizational matters. |
· Partners with the plant leadership to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruitment, retention and succession planning. |
· Manages talent acquisition process and collaborates with plant leadership to understand required skills and competencies. |
· Provides coaching and counseling to employees and plant leadership for effective resolution of employee relations issues. |
· Develops and implements programs that align with the company’s mission, values and behaviors to enhance employee culture and engagement. |
· Creates and maintains learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities. |
· Oversees employee disciplinary process, terminations and investigations for consistency and compliance. |
· Maintains compliance with local, state and federal employment laws and regulations. Recommends best practices and reviews policies and procedures to maintain compliance. |

QUALIFICATIONS: |
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. |
· PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred. |
· Minimum 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting. Prior supervisory experience required. |
· Proficient computer skills required, including use of MS Office Suite software and HRIS and talent management systems. |
· Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. |
· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. |
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills. |
· Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and handle multiple projects simultaneously. |
· Possess excellent judgement and deep understanding of HR principles and practices. |
· Strategic thinking abilities to develop a clear vision for achieving medium to long-term goals. |
· Must possess ability to act with integrity, professionalism and maintain confidentiality. |
· Thorough knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws. |
· Must be able to adjust work schedule to accommodate all shifts. |
