Responsibilities

 

  • Provides leadership in maintaining safety, quality and efficiency throughout the department.
  • Directs all production activities through the Production Supervisors, as a member of the Plant Manager’s staff, coordinates interdepartmental activities with other department managers.
  • Plans department expense budget and the method of operation to remain within the budget and assures cost control and cost improvement projects.
  • Monitors and controls labor, regrind levels, and material variances.
  • Determine proper utilization of workforce based on production demands.
  • Conducts daily production meetings and communicates with all departments to direct support group activities.
  • Monitors production and labor efficiencies to ensure that Company standards are met and maintains proper production practices.
  • Adherence to quality standards established by the Company to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Trains and develops production personnel.
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
  • Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
  • Serve as the back up to the Plant Manager.

Qualifications

 

  • Five or more years experience leading a manufacturing department with results proven metrics of success.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees
  • Bachelors Degree in Management/Business, preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in manufacturing supervisory role with a proven track record in leading manufacturing teams.
  • Experience with Quality Systems and Programs
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices, LEAN Manufacturing, 5's, World Class Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include holidays and weekends.
  • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
