Responsibilities

 

  1. Direct the Tool Room personnel in day-to-day maintenance of the molds.
  2. Set priorities for repairs of the molds.
  3. Work with Tool Room groups to develop and follow preventive maintenance programs.
  4. Assist in managing the expense monies for the Tool Room.
  5. Make recommendations for capital needs in the Tool Room to the Tooling Manager.
  6. Evaluate down time and efficiency reports to determine productivity levels and areas requiring special attention.
  7. Coordinate efforts with other groups in maintenance, scheduling, molding, printing, etc.
  8. Assist Tool Room groups in determining spare parts inventory.
  9. Keep Tool Room personnel informed on pertinent activities and information.
  10. Assist the Human Resource Department with screening and interviewing potential employees for the Tool Room.
  11. Assist the Tooling and Engineering departments at other Amcor facilities when needed.
  12. Develop new Tool Room policies as necessary to ensure safety and efficiency.
  13. Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and Department of Health requirements.
  14. Responsible for ensuring all standards of ISO and SQF are met.

Qualifications

  1. High school education / GED equivalent.
  2. Must be Certified Tool Room Journeyman
  3. Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.
  4. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  5. Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex.
  6. Able to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts.
  7. Ability to push/pull loads of approx 75 lbs at a minimum of 10 times per day/shift.
  8. Able to stand/walk for 7 hours of an 8-hour shift.
  9. Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 – 12 point font at a distance of 12 – 18 inches.
