Responsibilities

 

Qualifications

Schedule:  Wed-Sun  3:45pm-12:15am

 

3.1 Following inspection procedures, verbal and written instructions, performs routine inspections on parts and materials, to determine conformance to specification, and workmanship standards.

3.2 Perform First Article following First Article Inspection procedure.

3.3 Perform Last Article inspection and retention/storage.

3.4 Follow inspection planning, use of inspection devices, software, and inspection equipment.

3.5 Use quality related software and hardware to inspect/monitor product quality through both First Article verification and in process sampling techniques.

3.6 Train Inspectors and production personnel in QA techniques and system applications.

3.7 Working knowledge of Vision System and SPC system.

3.8 Working knowledge of product drawing specifications and tolerances.

3.9 Prepare, process and maintain quality records as prescribed by QA procedures or work instructions.

3.10 Directs work assignments of Line Inspectors.

3.11 Assists in general daily activities of Line Inspectors.

3.12 Assist in communication of quality standards and training of employees.

3.13 Assist the Quality Technician in qualification activities, and tool verifications as needed.

3.14 Assigns overtime or provides coverage from back-up QA for off-shifts, and weekends when needed.

3.15 Maintain neat, clean and orderly work area.

3.16 Follow all company GMP and safety policies

3.17 Report accidents and or safety issues to Supervisor immediately.

3.18 Perform other duties as assigned.

4.1.1Basic math skills, (add, subtract, divide, multiply and work with numbers up to 4 decimal places) numerical sequence of box labels.

4.1.2 Must be able to speak, write and read effectively in order to understand packing labels, safety posters, other forms of written communication and use of equipment.

4.1.3 Must have the ability to remember defects and procedures.

4.1.4 Must be able to follow reasonable patterning flow, and flow charts. Must also be able to respond to instructions and follow through.

4.1.5 Must be able to respond to work order deadlines, and production requirements.

4.1.6 Must have ability to make decisions on the acceptability of product.

4.1.7 Must be able to work in a team atmosphere with individual responsibilities, and ownerships.

4.2 Education and/or Equivalent Experience

4.2.1 Basic math skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply and work with numbers up to 4 decimal places); numerical sequence of box labels.

4.2.2 Must be able to speak, write and read effectively in order to understand packing labels, safety posters, and other forms of written communication.

4.2.3 Must be able to write and understand at a basic level in order to make notations, and/or corrections on product labels, such as, numbers. Ability to print legibly, and fill out all QA forms.

4.2.4 One (1) year previous inspection experience and or trade/technical training.

4.2.5 Must be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.

4.3 Physical Requirements/Work Environment

4.3.1 Must be able to work nine (8) to twelve (12) hours per day with two (2) 15-minute breaks and one (1) 30-minute lunch, five hours per week. Must be able to work overtime when necessary.

4.3.2 Office or QA Cubicle environment; temperature range 65-85 degrees, depending on season. The production area has climate control.

4.3.3 Noise level is usually 87dB. On production floor it is 90dB.

4.3.4 Minimal plastic purge fumes, normal level of dust and odor associated with office at a plant site. There are fumes on the production floor: plastic cleaning solvents, and oils when heated

4.3.5 Must be able to wear PPE, such as hairnet, beard net (if applicable), rubber sole shoes, earplugs, bump caps and safety glasses. No jewelry allowed on plant floor except wedding band without stones.

4.3.6 Will lift 35 lbs. frequently during day. Both arm activity to lift, move or stack boxes.

4.3.7 Single arm movement for writing, reading, computer operation, calculator, measuring instruments and copy machine.

4.3.8 Good visual acuity, ability to read printed material up to 1½-hour intervals at computer screen. Ability to visually detect difference in color, depth perception, flaws in product, letter sharpness and read print.

4.3.9 Must be able to access all ground area of production floor, to move from station to station and to reach height of work.

4.3.10 Constant bending and twisting are required on average 80% of workday.

4.3.11 Required to stand most of the day with occasional sitting to do measurements and paperwork on a stool.

4.3.12 Must have good interpersonal skills, ability to interact with all employees, outside contacts and counterparts throughout the Berry organization.
