Responsibilities

Overseeing all aspects of plastic injection molding operations, this role ensures efficient production, quality control, and timely delivery through strategic planning, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires strong technical expertise, supervisory experience, and a commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the management and coordination of all molding production floor operations including the safety and morale of employees, the molding operations, housekeeping, and equipment with the objective of improving the plant's performance in safety, cost, delivery, and quality.
  • Scheduling all operators and leads work schedule, ensuring proper staffing for each shift’s operations.
  • Communication with lead personnel during day, night, and weekend operations.
  • Scheduling of machine production for customers purchase orders received.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all manufacturing processes tooling, construction and processing parameters, optimization of the plastic injection molding department.
  • Planning and purchasing of raw materials to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Manage warehouse operations with personnel along with scheduling of purchase orders for shipment. Ensuring all Philips website purchases ship in a timely manner.
  • Monthly projection of sales with a budgeted goal presented to upper management.
  • Plastics manufacturing sales presented to upper management on a weekly basis.
  • Documentation of scrap percentage for all manufacturing machines running presented to upper management on a weekly basis.
  • Work alongside other department manager(s) to ensure timely deliveries to customers in terms of product launches and order commitments. Work in conjunction with Quality Manager to ensure that product quality standards and quality management system are upheld/maintained.
  • Implementation of new and continuous improvement activities and monitoring the effectiveness. Product and process risk analysis team activities as part of current and new product development.
  • Customer and supplier relations. Recommends expansion opportunities/equipment upgrades, and technological investments for plant development.
  • Capturing and submitting inventory on all raw materials along with finished goods monthly.

Qualifications

  • Experience and/or education in plastics injection molding.
  • New product process development for manufacturing expertise.
  • Excellent team building skills.

  • Corrective Action and Preventative Action investigations and implementations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years supervisory experience in plastics industry.
  • 5-7 years technical experience in plastics industry.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Certifications
  • RJG, Poulson’s or any other formal plastic process training.
  • DOE Knowledge.
  • Quality Management System Knowledge.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
