Responsibilities:
· Safety focused for self and all team members safety
· Cross-functional troubleshooting and repair of complex industrial systems with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical systems
· Operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting/repair of all auxiliary infrastructure systems such as compressed air, cooling water, vacuum, and carton systems
· Identifies, determines, and rebuilds components such as pumps, valves, electronics, solenoids, gearboxes, vacuum systems as needed
· Utilizes multi-meters/appropriate test equipment to test motors, test and reset breakers/replace fuses, and variable frequency drives. Wires and installs motors, sensors, drives as needed for replacement
· Utilizes Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) to troubleshoot equipment sensors and processes
· Fabrication of machine parts through use of maintenance shop tools
· Project work for installation of equipment, repairs/improvements to building infrastructure, and other facility areas
· Off-duty call-in as required for emergency/breakdown support
· Make suggestions/improvements to increase effectiveness of operations in the plant
· Perform preventive and corrective work as directed, notably on support equipment
· Communicates with production supervisors and other team members frequently for needs of machine repair
· Responsible for proper documentation of all/any changes made to equipment
· Continuously trains and learns new subject areas to improve own skillset
· Training of team members on equipment maintenance practices, operation, and safe work practices
· Follows food safety and quality guidelines to improve and protect
· Self-motivated, accountable, and able to communicate with team members
· Other duties as assigned
Cross functionally trained in mechanical and electrical areas with 5+ years of industrial maintenance OR
· Vocational education and/or training in machine repair, industrial electricity, or equivalent programs from an accredited school w/ 2+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience
· Read, write and speak English
· Complete preemployment mechanical aptitude test
· Demonstrated safety-first focus
· Cross-Functional Knowledge in a few of the below areas:
o Knowledge of manufacturing equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, and plastic processing equipment
o Knowledge of utility system components including compressed air systems, cooling water systems, vacuum systems, etc.
o Knowledge of plant electrical systems, including NFPA 70e qualifications
o Knowledge of PLC controls/electronics for automation equipment
o Knowledge in industrial vision systems to assist with setups/troubleshooting of defects
o Qualification to use maintenance shop tools to fabricate parts including the use of vertical mill/drill presses, brake/shear, and MIG/TIG welders
o Prior plastics experience desirable, specifically with experience in operation and maintenance of compression molding equipment
· Must have tools required for industrial maintenance, with exception of specialty, power tools, and machine shop tools
· Must be able to work at heights (Passing fall protection and mobile elevated work platform training required)
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in different positions throughout shift
12 hour shifts: 7pm to 7am or 7am to 7pm (shift differential) Over time available
