Responsibilities

  • Exemplifies the Amcor Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Amcor inside and outside of the plant.
  • Work in a professional manner with other associates to ensure only quality product being released to the customer.
  • Begin each shift by conducting a thorough walk-through of each department to access the overall status of plant quality.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with the Quality Department document filing and retention programs.
  • Oversee the Product “Hold” area documenting applicable information and with the assistance of Production, ensuring product is promptly sorted / reworked.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in managing the overall plant resin program.
  • Monitor plant quality processes to confirm they are being handled promptly and properly. Notify the Quality Assurance Manager of any deviations and assist with corrective actions.
  • Conduct capability studies as required and identify capability deficiencies.
  • Customer samples - Evaluate attributes / test performance / confirm dimensions of sample parts for Production Support. Quality must approve parts prior to shipment.
  • Conduct Mold Concentricity inspections and documentation.
  • Complete all “Certificates of Analysis” as required.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in identifying quality deficiency trends and in finding solutions to improve plant quality standards.
  • Assist with incoming inspections and dock audits as necessary.
  • Compile and report data on Quality scrap to the Assistant Plant Manager / General Supervisor.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with the processing of any required Deviation Requests.
  • Various other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment; plastic manufacturing highly preferred.
  • Technical background and/or experience in Quality Assurance highly preferred.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand or walk for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Good computer skills required.
  • Skilled in the use of measuring devices, such as height gages and calipers.
  • Good mathematics skills required.
  • Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE including but not limited to: Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hair/beard nets, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes, or airborne particles.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Good communication skills--verbal and written; must effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.
  • Good attention to detail, time management skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.
