Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic communications advisor to business leaders, providing counsel and solutions for major change initiatives (e.g., culture initiatives, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, policy changes).
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders to design and deliver integrated communication plans for key stakeholder groups, businesses, and corporate functions (including HR), as well as community engagement initiatives.
  • Develop and execute innovative campaigns that inspire employees, reinforce growth mindset, and ensure alignment with Amcor’s strategy.
  • Provide communications advisory to colleagues and front-line leaders to strengthen their role as change sponsors.
  • Manage Brand & Communications Excellence initiatives, ensuring consistency, quality, and protection of the Amcor brand across all internal and external channels.
  • Produce and adapt timely content (announcements, articles, presentations, Q&As, etc.) across internal and external platforms, including digital and social media.
  • Collaborate closely with global and regional communication teams, business leaders and third-party vendors to ensure alignment and effective execution.
  • Balance competing priorities, translating business strategy into clear communications actions that drive understanding and engagement.
  • Support leadership events (e.g., annual conference) and deliver a portfolio of initiatives that connect employees to Amcor’s vision and business outcomes.
  • Measure, evaluate, and report on communication effectiveness; identify and share best practices globally.
  • Research and implement new communication channels to reach diverse audiences across offices, plants, and remote settings.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in spoken and written English. Additional languages a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related discipline.
  • Masters in Business Administration, Communications, audio-visual communication or related discipline a plus.
  • Exceptional copywriting skills across multiple formats (e.g., announcements, toolkits, scripts, social media posts, etc.).
  • At least 5 years of experience in external and internal communications with demonstrated success, preferably in a packaging manufacturing environment.
  • Solid hands-on experience in either FMCG, manufacturing or international companies, agencies.
  • Experience managing agencies and vendors and skilled in vendor negotiation, cost control and budget management.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills; Highly collaborative and ability to lead projects.
  • Good experience in change communications and a proven experience in delivery of integrated internal communications programs and campaigns.
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills. 
  • Mastery of communication tools and their relevance/efficiency to support business objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills to facilitate decision making in a matrixed organization
  • Strong project management skill, preferably involving change management at an enterprise level.
  • Focus on execution to drive a core set of deliverables and metrics and who feels comfortable creating and implementing out-of-the box ideas to increase engagement.

Additional Info

The Manager, Communications (Maternity Cover) provides strategic communications advice and hands-on support to leadersglobally. It leads internal and external initiatives that support Amcor’s growth agenda, organizational objectives, and change management programs. Responsibilities include developing and implementing communication plans, creating content for internal channels such as the intranet and events to strengthen employee engagement, and supporting external activities to enhance and protect Amcor’s reputation, including during potential crises. The position requires close collaboration with leaders and global Communications colleagues to ensure consistent, aligned messaging, as well as strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. This role is a Maternity Cover and is limitede to 6-9 months.
