Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Provides direction and oversight of all activities related to assigned manufacturing employees and for all processes related to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of all operations.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the Manufacturing Manager is often subjected to changing priorities, time pressures, and constraints. The Production Manager is expected to adapt and respond professionally with an appropriate sense of urgency without sacrificing safety.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Manages all Production, Maintenance, and Mold shop activities, under the direction of the Plant Manager. Plans, develops, and implements strategic action plans for these departments.
  • Ensures complete compliance to QMS, GMP’s, GDP requirements, and ISO policies and procedures.Monitor, track, and analyze production efficiencies, scrap, safety, and quality in assigned manufacturing areas.
  • Leads and provides direction to Production, Maintenance, and Mold shop Supervisors. Conduct daily meetings.
  • Delegate work assignments and priorities to Shift Supervisors. Coach, teach, and develop Supervisors to meet expected level of performance.
  • Maintains an efficient workforce through communication and training of personnel.
  • Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.
  • Provides clear, consistent expectations of a safe work environment throughout the plant, ensuring safety policies and procedures are communicated, understood, and followed. Lead by example.
  • Work with QA, Scheduling, and Shipping to organize and direct work schedules to meet customer requirements and customer ship dates.
  • Focuses on continuous improvement initiatives to meet plant goals and objectives.
  • Manages production expenses to remain within the budget and assure cost control and cost improvement projects. Develops annual CAPEX for responsible departments.
  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree (B.S. or B.A.) or equivalent preferred; or at least 6-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a plastics injection environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze, direct, and prioritize.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
