Responsibilities

 

  • Process all daily dispatches in a timely manner while adhering to all customer specific instructions.
  • Process all customer orders properly and prepare all special handling instructions such as special stickers, special packing lists, etc.
  • Use a computer to prepare various forms and labels as required by customer orders.
  • Communicate on an as needed basis with freight carriers scheduling pickups of customer orders.
  • Answer phones as needed in order to assist truck load carriers, LTL carriers, customer service, etc.
  • Maintain and organize storage for internal record-keeping while adhering to company Records and Retention Policy.
  • Assist in physical inventories, cycle counts, and various aspects of inventory management as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment in compliance to company’s environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
  • Perform other related functions and duties as assigned or required.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three years experience preferred in an office and/or manufacturing environment with demonstrated capacity to work with production or supply chain software.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook); ability to operate basic office equipment including copier, scanner, calculator, printer, and fax.  
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Logistics Manager/Supervisor, forklift operators, CDL drivers, customers, and office personnel.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage rapidly changing priorities.
  • Self-starter that uses initiative within established policies and procedural guidelines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.    
  • Ability to perform functional mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Ability to adhere to Berry’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, stoop, climb, and reach multiple times per day.
  • Primarily work in an office setting; ability to work in warm, humid, and cool climates inside a warehouse.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, steel toe shoes/boots, and gloves.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack; maintain a forklift operator license.
  • Primarily a day shift position in an office environment; ability to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends, evenings, and overtime as needed.
