Responsibilities

As a member of the Production team, you will be responsible for completing the tasks that fall under the General Labourer position ensuring that production requirements and orders are completed based on the production schedule. As a key member of the team, you will report to the Shift Production Supervisor and work closely with other members of the shift.

  • Perform all functions in accordance with Company Safety guidelines. This includes maintenance of proper housekeeping to ensure a safe work area
  • Comply with all Safety, BRCS, and housekeeping rules for self and others.
  • Assist with production lines in plant.
  • Clean production areas.
  • Sweep, mop, and remove debris from production floor as instructed
  • Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
  • Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.
  • Pull damaged or ineffective equipment off the line.
  • Retrieve packaging material for production.
  • Assembles product boxes for production lines as required
  • Lift and weigh finished product before packaging
  • Operate overwrap machine for further processing.
  • Remove product from machine
  • Clean equipment when required
  • Record data in production and GDC systems as per guidelines
  • Assist with risk assessment process
  • Cover extrusion lines during breaks and lunches
  • Take instructions from supervisors/lead hands for further duties as required and directed.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Forklift experience is an asset
  • Extrusion experience an asset
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret instructions, and safety requirements
  • Mathematical skills to carry out computer tasks such as rate, ratios and percentages
  • Computer literate
  • Possess the discipline to execute tasks without procrastination
  • Good time management to work at a good pace, executing word orders and demands
  • Ability to handle basic tools
  • Knowledge of safety precautions and legislation
  • Good human relations to relate cordially with team members and workers
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shift rotation from days and nights
