Responsibilities

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor for our manufacturing/warehouse facility in Tolleson, AZ to provide direction to team members in a manner that inspires and motivates others to achieve high individual and team performance results. This excellent People Leader will serve as a role model of Amcor Values and Behaviors, and assist others as necessary to facilitate their personal and professional growth and development.  They pride themselves in their safety mindset, people skills, problem solving, and self-initiative.  

  • Safety Huddles- Before each shift.
  • FLL walk through and check list. Before Safety Huddle.
  • Monthly Safety Training.
  • NM/OB reporting tracking and effectiveness. Goal of 90% completion rate for their direct reports. Daily tracking and interaction with employees not participating.
  • Safety reporting
  • Recordable: Notify PM, EHS and Dept. Manager through email and text.
  • Proper GDC reporting_ Enter in GDC and start investigation.
  • First Aid awareness and reporting.
  • Housekeeping-
  • Labor management- proper labor per machine cell. Communicate needs. VTO when needed. Issue Disciplinary action.
  • Kronos: Admin. Vacation, OT scheduling, Attendance
  • Employee training- tracking and follow up
  • Follow up with technical groups on any issues or DT.
  • Communication of mechanical/ tooling issues.
  • Enforce priorities and make necessary adjustments when needed.
  • Machine down: Notify technical resources
  • 2 hours down: Follow up with technical group.
  • 4 hours down: Notify department manager in email and text.
  • 8 hours down: Notify PM in email and text.
  • Shift handoff: Incoming Supervisor and communication with all affected departments. (ex. HR when there is shortage of staffing)
  • Promote a safe workplace and communicate in a manner so that all team members clearly understand their responsibilities to always exercise safe work behaviors.
  • Assist in the sourcing, onboarding, retaining, training, communicating, and recognition of team members.
  • Demonstrate sincere care, respect, and trust for all team members.
  • Provide direction and coaching to employees so that they can best complete their job responsibilities.
  • Manage and facilitate employee growth through completion of “on the job” experiences and myDevelopment courses.
  • Assess team member performance and provide positive and constructive feedback as necessary to positively impact their performance.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors that serve as a role model of Amcor Values.
  • Resolve conflict as necessary, and help others learn methods in which conflict can be eliminated or addressed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Foster a culture that cultivates diversity, acceptance, and inclusion.
  • Actively pursue own growth and develop to expand knowledge of the broader Amcor business.
  • Complete other responsibilities as necessary to ensure success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Management, Psychology, Business, or related discipline or minimum 5 years equivalent managerial/leadership experience.
  • Must sincerely care for others, and be a servant leader.
  • Possess visionary skills with demonstrated experience and success with leading change.
  • Exceptional interpersonal effectiveness, communication, people problem solving, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong strategic analytical and planning skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to work with others at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Bilingual/Spanish skills preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

Directly supervises Group Leader and operators.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training of employees, placing, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
