SUMMARY:Maintain production and building equipment through installation, repair and preventative maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  1. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic problems on building and production equipment that uses electro-mechanical relay logic of PLC controls plus hydraulic, pneumatic and related equipment.
  2. Make simple tool cuts using maintenance shop machine tools (lathe, milling machine, welding equipment, etc.) to an accuracy of +/- .003”.
  3. Coordinate & communicate the repair and other work in the area with production, maintenance and other involved groups.
  4. Must ensure safety and efficient quality of production in the shop.
  5. Keep accurate records/ paperwork according to established recordkeeping procedures.
  6. Train and advise mechanics, assign work and review progress of work as needed. 
  7. Must perform any other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  2. Excellent attendance and good work history.
  3. Score at least 73% on mechanical aptitude test.
  4. Preferred minimum of 10 years mechanical work experience on similar manufacturing and building equipment, including hydraulics, electrical systems and blueprints
  5. Must know HVAC systems well enough to operate and to locate minor problems.
  6. Must have knowledge of building crafts.
  7. Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, climbing, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting/moving (up to 50 pounds). Must be able to work from elevated platforms and ladder lifts.
  8. Able to provide or purchase own tools.
  9. Able to work overtime as needed.
