Responsibilities

PURPOSE:  To ensure that all new hires receive the proper training.

 

Pre-Shift exercise / stretching activity to be performed before you can enter production area unless written doctors release can be provided to Human Resources.

  1. Meet with new employee in the break room and explain daily assignment staffing board.
  2. Have a short 5-10 minute meeting with new employees each day during the training period.
  3. Prepare new hire training folder containing Training check list, Plant wide safety, Safety Absolutes and Knife Safety policy.
  4. Take new employees on Department tour. Show department fire exits/muster area and tornado shelters. The trainer will spend time whit new hire in the training room to cover training material. This shall include product description/Traveler spec-sheet and production label.
  5. As necessary, assist in setting up the assignment board and place the new trainee with a senior operator for one-on-one training for the first week of training. They will follow up with the trainee throughout the week. If there is only one trainee, then the trainer will assign himself or herself to a press and take the trainee with them. Trainers should not be responsible for more than 4 new hires at one time on any given day.
  6. Remain available to the new employee for the duration of their designated training period.
  7. The trainer will present basic machine safety and show defect samples as they arrive at their assigned machine.
  8. A trainer must be available to work weekends as needed.
  9. Meet with trainee to complete require training verification forms weekly. When weekly training forms are completed, the trainer will make an appointment with the Frontline Leader to allow the trainee ample time to meet, review and discuss training progress. Trainers have the authority and are encouraged to review the trainee’s weekly performance before scheduling the signoff with the Frontline Leader. Training forms are NOT to be completed until that employee has proven competence in each area.
  10. All completed training forms shall be sent to Training Coordinator for final review. Completed training file should contain the following documents:
  • Plant Safety orientation.
  • Safety Absolutes.
  • Plant wide safety policy.
  • Quality Policy and Quality Absolutes.
  • SQF/HACCP /GMP / ALLERGEN TRAINING TEST.
  • Completed weekly training.
  • Information Questionnaire.
  • Completed Required GDC Training.
  • Competed Required MyDevepment Training.
  • Trainers are required to maintain the ability to keep and organized paperwork is necessary for this position.

Qualifications

  • Understands basic JDE navigation
  • Possesses Basic computer skills
  • Possess strong organizational skills
  • Understands how to access Cpro and myDevelopment
  • Able to read, understand, and present all training material to trainees
  • Excellent Attendance including monthly trainer meetings
  • Team Player
  • People Skills
  • Completion of all School of Leadership training courses in myDevelopent.
  • Maintains a positive attitude
  • Ability to accept and work with a changing environment
  • Know how to pack and maintain presses
  • Possess the ability to explain all safety rules
  • Completion of all Environmental Health and Safety classes on myDevelopment.
  • Follows GMP and HACCP guidelines
  • Completion of necessary training courses with SQF practitioner
  • Knowledge of ISO and SQF
  • Completion of ‘What is ISO’ and ‘What is SQF’ within myDevelopment
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent GED
