1. Ensure proper set up of presses to attain production rates with minimal scrap.
2. Supply and stir ink wells as necessary.
3. Monitor and ensure print quality.
4. Wash print blankets and plates as necessary.
5. Ensure all color heads not in use are cleaned and ready for the next production run.
6. Organize your work area and prepare for the setup of your next job.
7. Maintain your section in a clean and orderly fashion.
8. Ensure printing plates are cleaned after each use and returned to the proper location.
9. Ensure plate room remains clean and organized daily.
10. Monitor the production schedule for special instructions.
11. Monitor inventory levels of all printing supplies and report low inventory levels to management.
12. Monitor blank cup inventory and ensure management is aware of low inventory.
13. Monitor department production lines for quality defects and adjusting
14. Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and department of health requirements.
15. Relieve technicians for breaks and assist operator floats with breaks if necessary.
1. High school diploma / GED equivalent.
2. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
3. Prior printing experience with good mechanical ability.
4. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees.
5. Ability to lift 35 pounds.
6. Ability to climb ladders / steps.
7. Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 5 hours during a 12-hour shift.
8. Ability to work in a dusty environment.
9. Visual acuity of at least 20/40 corrected vision for distance and a minimum near vision ability to read 7-point font at 12 inches.
10. Ability to reach and lift overhead.
11. Must have completed Printing Press Tech Training Checklist
