Responsibilities

  • Supplies and Rejects
  • Gather raw material for start of shift and in advance of any mold changes
  • Lift boxes and gaskets for operators
  • If needed, assist Assembly Line Operators in assembling supplies
  • Blow off soiled product
  • Break down any unused, bulk boxes
  • Ensure cleanliness of the supply area; remove cardboard, empty pallets, strapping or paper
  • Collect and count, clean, wipe and remove accessories and handles of rejected product and separate by resin and wrap when full
  • Ensure clean and organized reject area
  • Empty trays and garbage cans
  • Dyes
  • Check and fill dyes as needed
  • Ensure regrind at machines is topped off
  • Check and empty or change purge pans, gaylords
  • Ensure machines and area are kept in a clean manner from oil, dye, resin, water, product and raw materials
  • Retrieve pallets and blow off debris
  • Run magnet over parking lot for loose nails
  • Lift boxes for operators
  • Ensure clean and organized dye area
  • Empty yellow garbage cans in adherence to Operation Clean Sweep
  • Cover breaks for wrapper
  • Recharge and change forklift batteries in the event of floor support shortage
  • Wrapper and Product Placement
  • Recharge and change forklift batteries
  • Check proper product placement and stacking of product in warehouse
  • Wrap completed pallets and place in warehouse
  • Move equipment, product or supplies to warehouse
  • Retrieve product as requested for Quality Control
  • Deck pallets
  • De-nest pallets
  • Other Tasks
  • Operate forklift in a safe manner, forklift inspection sheets
  • Check schedules in lunchroom
  • Check with mold-set up for changes and other vital information
  • Respond to help buttons
  • Operate machines if required
  • Ensure production floor remains in clean state (sweeping, garbage)
  • Mentor new Floor Support staff as outlined in training procedures, if required
  • Other duties that may be required

Qualifications

  • Previous forklift experience a definite asset
  • Previous manufacturing experience a definite asset
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labour
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
